• While booking a wait-listed train ticket on the MMT website/app, you can opt for ‘Trip Guarantee’.
• If your wait-listed ticket is not confirmed at the time of chart preparation, we will refund you 3X the ticket fare.

How will you get 3X refund?

• The 3X Refund will be processed in two parts:
  • The ticket fare will be refunded, in the original payment mode used at the time of booking a train ticket.
  • Remaining 2X amount will be refunded as a ‘Travel Voucher’. This ‘Travel Voucher’ can be used to book any other mode of transport (flight, bus, train or cab) available on MMT platform.
• The 3X Refund shall be exclusive of MMT Service Fee, IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges and Trip Guarantee Premium which the customer pays at the time of making the reservation through MMT Platform.

What else do you need to know?

• You will be eligible for the 3X Refund only if your ticket doesn’t get confirmed till the time of chart preparation by IRCTC.
• User will not be eligible for the 3X Refund if the ticket gets Confirmed or RAC at the time of chart preparation.
• This Offer is valid only on tickets which are in the waitlisted category.
• This Offer is valid on selected trains/class booked through MMT platform.
• Premium amount paid for availing the Trip Guarantee offer may change, from time to time and even before the final payment depending upon the ticket fare or availability of the ticket.
• One can avail a maximum refund of INR 6,000 (Rupees Six Thousand Only).
• 3X Refund is not valid if the ticket gets partially or fully confirmed/RAC.
• In case of bulk booking, if some of the tickets have been confirmed and not all, you shall not be eligible for the 3X Refund for the tickets which have not been confirmed.
• Illustration: A makes a booking of 5 tickets through MMT platform for Delhi to Jaipur. A books the tickets under the Trip Guarantee offer upon paying the Trip Guarantee Premium for all the 5 tickets. The tickets are in waitlisted category. Before or at the time of chart preparation, 3 of these tickets gets confirmed. Now, A cannot seek the 3X Refund amount for the remaining 2 tickets as partial booking has been confirmed. Thus, in order to avail the Offer the entire booking shall not be confirmed (or RAC) in the chart preparation.

What are the terms and Conditions of ‘Travel Voucher’?

• The ‘Travel Voucher’ will be shared with you via email once your train chart gets prepared.
• The ‘Travel Voucher’ will expire within seven (7) days of issuance by MMT.
• The Travel Voucher is valid for a travel made within seven (7) days of train’s departure date.
• The ‘Travel Voucher’ can be used only once, for booking alternate mode of transport like flight, bus, cab or train.
• You cannot use one ‘Travel Voucher’ to book multiple mode of transport.
• The ‘Travel Voucher’ should be entered in the ‘coupon code’ field while booking alternate mode of transport through MMT platform.
• Partially utilized ‘Travel Voucher’ cannot be re-used on any other booking.
• This Offer cannot be clubbed with any other offer of MMT.
• If the fare of alternate mode of transport is higher than the ‘Travel Voucher’ amount, then the customer must pay the remaining amount at the time of booking alternate mode of transport.
• MMT shall not be responsible for the availability of the alternate mode of transport. In the event You wish to avail the amount received under the Offer for making a booking for an alternate mode of transport for Your travel and the same is not available for the time, date and place of Your choice, MMT shall not be held responsible for the same.
• Illustration: A makes a booking of a train ticket from Mumbai to Pune and the said ticket did not get confirmed. MMT pursuant to this Offer issued 2X Refund in A’s favour. Now, A wishes to make another booking for the alternate mode of transport i.e. Cab/ Bus/ Flight/ Train and there is no availability for these modes. MMT shall not be held responsible for the same.
• In no event the ‘Travel Voucher’ can be refunded, exchanged or partly encashed.
• MMT reserves the right to deny accepting any Travel Voucher on account of duplicity. MMT shall not be held responsible in this regard.
• In case you wish to cancel your alternate booking, MakeMyTrip shall adjust the discount amount from final refund amount and cancellation penalty will be charged depending on your chosen mode of travel.

What happens if I cancel my train ticket before chart preparation?

• In case you cancel a wait-listed train ticket before the chart preparation, MMT will process full refund of the ticket fare and you shall not be eligible for the Offer i.e. the 3X refund. Further, MMT shall have the right to deduct MMT Service Fee, IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges and Trip Guarantee premium.
• If case your ticket gets confirmed and you cancel a confirmed train ticket before the chart preparation, then the cancellation policy of IRCTC will be applicable.
• Train chart preparation time is controlled by Indian Railways. The chart is usually prepared 4 hours before departure of train from originating station. For early morning trains, the chart is usually prepared the night before.

General Terms and Conditions

• The offer is only valid on train bookings.
• MMT shall not be responsible for any delay, improper services provided by the provider of services, for any injury, death, loss or damage caused by the act or default of the management or employees of provider who are MMT’s independent contractors.
• MMT does not accept responsibility for losses and additional expenses, due to delays or changes in air, train, ships or other services, missed connections, sicknesses, weather, strikes, quarantine or other causes, howsoever caused, and all such losses and expenses caused must be borne by the customer.
• Any date change may incur an additional charge and the same shall be applicable on the basis of the new date selected by the customer as per the IRCTC policy.
• MMT reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change/withdraw or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this Offer by another offer, whether similar to this Offer or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
• If the payment towards the booking is made through CC/ DC, the customer shall approach the Bank for any claims related thereof and MMT shall not entertain any such claims.
• MMT is the sole authority for interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.
• MMT shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to force majeure event.
• MMT shall not be liable to for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the Offer. Notwithstanding anything contrary contained hereunder, In no event the aggregate liability of MMT under this offer shall exceed the amount of Travel Voucher availed by the customer amount under this Offer.
• MMT may suspend or terminate these terms and conditions/ Offer at any time for any reason at their discretion.
• By participating in this Offer, the Customer gives MMT permission to use customer’s name, image and any other details or information available on the customer’s social media profiles, in any manner, to promote the Offer or MMT brand name or services.
• In the event of any misuse or abuse of the Offer by the customer or travel agent, MMT reserves the right to deny the Offer or cancel the booking.
• All disputes arising out of or in connection to this Offer are subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi only.
• All other terms and conditions as listed in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy available on MMT platform will be applicable to this Offer. The User Agreement and Privacy Policy are available on the MMT website https://www.makemytrip.com.Customers, who are Travel Agents by occupation, are barred from making bookings for their customer’s and MMT reserves the right to deny the offer against such bookings or to cancel such bookings. For such cases, MMT shall not refund the booking amount.
