Know Before You Go

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take you on a memorable holiday to Europe. While you prepare for the trip, here are a few important things to make note of:

Things to Check:

  • Passport (with a validity of six months from the date of return) The passport booklet should have a minimum of 3 blank pages for official use.
  • Valid visa for the duration of stay.
  • Please do check your visa validity as per the start and end dates of your trip.
  • Transit visa requirement if travelling via different carriers or changing terminals, depending on your duration of stay/stopover - as applicable in your booking. Do get in touch with your MakeMyTrip (MMT) representative for further details.
  • Flight tickets for travel within internal sectors (domestic and international). Do check on baggage allowance, especially for international internal sectors, if applicable in your booking.
  • Travellers should carry at least 100 Euro per person/per day while travelling to Europe.
  • Travellers should carry at least 100 GBP per person/per day while travelling to United Kingdom.
  • Valid International travel insurance.
  • Do purchase Swiss Francs in case you have a stay in Switzerland to save foreign exchange rates.
  • It is suggested to carry more currency in a traveller's card and less amount in cash.

Visa:

  • MMT provides visa assistance for Indian passport holders only. Passengers of other nationalities will need to check the visa regulations with their respective consulate.
  • Non-Resident Indian (NRI) travellers need to carry their OCI/PIO card at all times while traveling.
  • NRIs residing outside India need to get their Visa processed in their country of residence.
  • If you are travelling using two or more airline carriers or are changing terminals during your travel, please get in touch with your Relationship Officer to know about the transit visa requirement.
  • You must have a Valid Approved Visa Stamped on your passport before you fly to Europe/UK.
  • If travelling to any country in Europe/United Kingdom via a third country, then make sure that connecting flights are of the same airline and on a single PNR with a minimum halt of 2 hours 30 minutes and a maximum of 8 hours. If flights are of two different airlines or different PNRs are issued, then a pre-approved transit Visa for the transit country will be required.

Hotel:

  • Standard or base category rooms are included in the package, unless selected otherwise.
  • Standard check-in time is 1500 hours and check-out time is 1100 hours; for a guaranteed early check-in or late check-out, an additional one night charge will be applicable.
  • It is suggested you book the early check-in or late check-out (if required) before you travel, as it would be subject to availability; get in touch with your MMT representative for assistance.
  • Travelling with kids or senior citizens? It is recommended you book an early check-in or late check-out. The same is applicable for Group Departures, to avoid long waiting hours (as per your flight schedule).
  • Porter service may or may not be available.
  • Start your day with a delicious continental American buffet breakfast usually on offer; an Indian menu may not be available.
  • A refundable security deposit would be charged by the hotel at the time of check-in (either by debit/credit card or cash); this will be refunded at the time of check-out (provided there is no damage to the hotel premises or items in minibar are unused). We recommend using cash or credit card to make the deposit.
  • For a hotel booked in Europe, a security deposit between 70 - 100 Euro per room would be charged at the time of check-in.
  • For a hotel booked in the United Kingdom, a security deposit between 70 - 100 Pounds per room would be charged at the time of check-in.
  • A mandatory, non-refundable City Tax of approximately 02-05 Euro per person/day is to be paid by you at the hotel in Europe.
  • A mandatory, non-refundable City Tax of approximately 02-05 Pounds per person/day is to be paid by you at the hotel in the United Kingdom.
  • While with a debit card your account would be debited for the specific amount and transaction would be reversed later, with a credit card, the specific limit would be blocked and not charged; hence using a credit card or cash to pay the deposit is recommended.
  • Weather in Europe remains pleasant and cool throughout the year; most hotels don't have air conditioners or fans.
  • You may have to pay applicable city tax during check-out (unless included).
  • We recommend that you carry a universal travel adaptor so that you can use your electronic devices easily.

  • The overall room size is small as compared to a similar category hotel in India.
  • Rooms are comfortable but only large enough to accommodate a double bed and a roll-away mattress as an extra bed.
  • Standard Room category does not guarantee any specific view.
  • Travelling in a large group? Do note that inter-connecting or adjacent rooms, specific floors, etc. cannot be guaranteed, but can be requested during check-in (subject to availability).
  • 2-star or budget properties are very basic in nature and hence not recommended for families & couples.
  • Do ensure that the desired bed type is requested at the time of booking. Get in touch with your MMT representative to make changes, if required; prices may differ as per the bed type selected.
  • Amenities like drinking water, tea/coffee maker, ironing board, etc. are subject to availability and depend on the hotel and room category booked.
  • Free Wi-Fi is at the hotel's discretion; it may be provided on a paid basis in the room.
  • Carry an international multi-adaptor to charge your appliances with ease.

Transfers:

  • For seat-in-coach (SIC) transfers, do ensure you reach the transfer vehicle within 90 minutes from the flight’s landing time.
  • SIC transfers could either be by coach, bus or van, on a shared basis with other guests.
  • Depending on the location of your hotel, you may also be the first or the last person to be picked-up or dropped.
  • Arrival transfers are pre-scheduled. If missed, you would have to manage the transfer on your own and reach the hotel/join the group.
  • In case of private transfers, do reach the vehicle within 90 minutes from the flight landing time; also, the vehicle shall not make any unscheduled stops on the way.
  • Be extremely punctual for all sightseeing /transfers and assemble at the hotel lobby as mentioned in the vouchers/informed by the tour manager; wait time is generally not more than 5 minutes.
