Introduction
When a user (hereinafter “You”, “Your” or “Customer”) makes a booking through MakeMyTrip (India) Private Limited (“MMT”) website and/or its mobile application (“Platform”), the said terms and conditions shall apply with regards to the service laid hereunder.
“Price Drop Protection” is a value added service offered by MMT for the Customers. These services are intended to provide travel benefits to the Customers who make a domestic or international flights booking through the MMT’s Platform(s). All claims, queries and obligations in relation to the Price Drop Protection service shall be governed solely by these terms and conditions.
What do you get?
- Under the Price Drop Protection service opted by the Customer, the Customer shall be eligible for a refund of the fare difference in case the applicable fare (i.e., base fare + taxes) for the same flight drops at any time after the booking is confirmed and up to 6 (six) hours prior to the scheduled departure time mentioned in the Customer’s flight ticket. The fare difference referred to herein shall be calculated as the difference between the fare paid by the Customer for the flight ticket and the lowest fare available for the same flight from the time of booking until 6 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight.
- Assistance services provided by the Across Assist Private Limited (“Across Assist”), the scope of which is set out below.
How Do You Get It?
- During the booking process, select “Price Drop Protection” service by paying an additional fee per passenger (“Price Drop Protection Fee”) & avail the protection in case of price drops post booking, in accordance with these terms and conditions.
- To avail the benefit of “Price Drop Protection” service, the Customer may log-in to https://supportz.makemytrip.com/ where the applicable fares can be viewed. The system will be automatically tracking the fares changes at regular intervals.
- Customer can also check the fare of the flight at any point of time.
- If the fare for the Customer’s booked flight drops at any time up to 6 (six) hours prior to the scheduled departure time, the Customer shall be eligible to receive a refund of the applicable fare difference. The Customer must submit a claim for such refund through the MMT Platform, only post completion of the scheduled travel.
- The claim requests for a refund must be submitted within 30 (thirty) days from the scheduled departure date. Any claim requests submitted after the 30 (thirty) days’ period shall not be valid or eligible for any refund.
- Minimum fare that is captured on the MMT platforms will be solely considered for refund calculation.
What else do you need to know?
- For claiming the benefit under this service, the Customer must board the same flight against which this service was purchased. In case flight is rescheduled or cancelled, or any modifications are made including the change of the date to the original flight booking, then the service shall become void.
- In case of a domestic one-way booking, actual fare difference or up to Rs. 2,500/- (Indian Rupees Twenty Five Hundred only), whichever is lower, shall be refunded under this service. Similarly, up to Rs. 5,000/- (Indian Rupees Five Thousand only) or the actual fare difference, whichever is lower, shall be refunded in case of domestic round-trip bookings.
- In case of an international one-way booking, actual fare difference or up to Rs. 3,000/- (Indian Rupees Three Thousand only), whichever is lower, shall be refunded under this service. Similarly, up to Rs. 6,000/- (Indian Rupees Six Thousand only) or the actual fare difference, whichever is lower, shall be refunded in case of International Round-Trip bookings.
- Only base fare and taxes listed on the MMT Platform are considered for price drop service.
- Any kind of additional taxes, service fees, refundable deposits, and payments made using vouchers or rewards points are excluded.
- Price drops in the airline fare arising from flash sales, time-bound promotional offers, discount codes, cashback, loyalty/ reward programs, coupon codes, or non-public fares shall, at all times, remain excluded under this service.
- Price drops in the airline fare resulting from system errors, technical glitches, or temporary fare anomalies shall remain excluded under this service, at all times.
- Reduction in airline fare due to government tax changes, airport charges, or regulatory fee revisions shall remain excluded under this service, at all times.
- Fare changes occurring within 6 (six) hours of the scheduled departure time, i.e., after the cut-off window shall remain excluded under this service, at all times.
- This Price Drop Protection service shall not be applicable to non-scheduled or chartered flights.
- The assistance is a service forming part of the Price Drop Protection service and is provided to the customers by Across Assist with below offerings.
- Additional Services by Across Assist
- Emergency Medical Assistance: (Only for domestic flight bookings)
- Inclusions:
- Assistance in arranging medical support in case of any emergency.
- Support is provided worldwide, available 24×7×365 via phone and email.
- Virtual assistance over phone to arrange medical services as per the Customer’s requirements.
- The Customer will be informed once the services are arranged, and continuous follow-up by Across Assist will be done with the service provider until completion of the service.
- Case closure will be completed within 30 (thirty) to 45 (forty five) minutes after case registration.
- All services will be provided strictly in accordance with the applicable laws of the land.
- Exclusions:
- Any charges incurred for providing assistance related to arranging an assistance service shall be borne solely by the Customer.
- The actual service fees or costs for any services availed shall be paid directly by the Customer.
- Across Assist shall not be liable for any failure, delay, or inability to provide any assistance services to the extent such failure, delay, or inability arises out of or is attributable to a Force Majeure Event. For the avoidance of doubt, Force Majeure Event refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Across Assist that prevents or delays the performance of our obligations under these terms, which include, but are not limited to, natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, hurricanes), acts of war, terrorism, riots, pandemics, government actions or restrictions, and other unforeseeable and unavoidable events.
- Process:
- MMT shall share a toll free number & email ID of Across Assist in the booking confirmation email.
- Upon receipt of a call from the Customer, the request shall be received and logged at the Across Assist alarm centre.
- Across Assist shall assess the Customer’s concern and determine the nature of assistance required.
- Across Assist shall capture the necessary details and register the case.
- Across Assist will request the Customer / Customer’s relative for necessary documents and information required for facilitating the emergency assistance
- Once the information/ documents are received from Customer’s relative/friend, Across Assist shall share the same with their medical director immediately to assess the requirement of emergency assistance including ambulance, house call, hospitalization etc.
- Based on the assessment, the Across Assist shall activate the appropriate service partner in the relevant region to arrange the necessary service for the Customer.
- The relevant service partner will share the estimated charges for arranging the emergency assistances.
- Across Assist shall share the same estimated charges with Customer/Customer’s relative for their approval.
- Upon receipt of the Customer’s approval, Across Assist will instruct the relevant service provider to activate the required emergency services.
- Once the emergency services are activated, Across Assist will inform the Customer accordingly.
- Across Assist will coordinate with service provider and Customer to provide updates on the status of the emergency assistance.
- Once the emergency service completes, Across Assist will coordinate with Customer/Customer’s relative or Customer’s friend and close the case file.
- Closure update will be shared with the Customer.
- Legal Assistance: (Only for domestic flight bookings)
- Inclusions:
- If the Customer requires any legal assistance following the breakdown or an accident involving, the Customer’s vehicle during their journey, Across Assist shall provide contact details of the legal professionals located nearby, to provide convenience to the Customers.
- Across Assist shall merely act as a facilitator and shall not be held responsible or liable for the quality of services provided by the legal professionals.
- This service shall be provided solely as a referral service, and the Service Provider shall not be liable for any third-party costs or expenses incurred in connection with the provision of this service.
- Any such costs or expenses shall be recovered by the third party from the Customer. The role of Across Assist shall be limited to sharing the contact details of legal professionals with the Customer.
- If such services are not available at the location of breakdown/ accident, Across Assist shall not be held responsible or liable for the same.
- All services will be provided strictly in accordance with the applicable laws of the land.
- The scope and nature of the legal services provided may vary depending on the legal and regulatory framework of the location where the services are being delivered.
- Exclusions:
- Any charges incurred for providing assistance related to arranging an assistance service shall be borne solely by the Customer.
- The actual service fees or costs for any services availed shall be paid directly by the customer.
- No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after the activation of the service partner.
- Across Assist’s services shall not be available in regions classified as war zones. Across Assist reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services in areas that are deemed to be in a state of conflict or war.
- Across Assist shall not be liable for any failure, delay, or inability to provide any assistance services to the extent such failure, delay, or inability arises out of or is attributable to a Force Majeure Event. For the avoidance of doubt, Force Majeure Event refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Across Assist that prevents or delays the performance of our obligations under these terms, which include, but are not limited to, natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, hurricanes), acts of war, terrorism, riots, pandemics, government actions or restrictions, and other unforeseeable and unavoidable events.
- Process:
- MMT shall share a toll free number & email ID of Across Assist in the booking confirmation email.
- Upon receipt of a call from the Customer, the request shall be received and logged at the Across Assist alarm centre.
- Across Assist shall assess the Customer’s concern and determine the nature of the assistance required.
- Across Assist shall capture the necessary details and register the case.
- Across Assist shall check the service charges from the legal professionals and share the same to Customer.
- Across Assist will instruct the service provider to activate the assistance service, upon the receipt of the full charges. Activation will only commence once payment is received in full and processed.
- Loss of Passport Assistance: (Only for international flight bookings)
- Inclusions:
- Assistance in arranging a duplicate passport in case of loss or theft during the travel journey.
- Support shall be provided worldwide, available 24×7×365 via toll free number and email.
- Virtual assistance over phone to help schedule an appointment at the nearest embassy and to share the list of required documents for issuing a duplicate passport and/or visa, in case the Customer has a long halt in a particular country.
- Customer will be informed once confirmation is received from the embassy, including the appointment date and time.
- Post completion of the case, the same will be confirmed with the Customer and the case closure procedure will be completed within 48 (forty eight) to72 (seventy two) hours after case registration.
- All services will be provided strictly in accordance with the applicable laws of the country concerned.
- In the event of a medical emergency, physical assistance may also be provided, where applicable.
- Exclusions:
- Any and all costs and charges incurred for providing assistance related to arranging a duplicate passport shall be borne solely by the Customer.
- The actual service fees or costs for any services availed shall be paid solely and directly by the Customer.
- Across Assist shall not be liable for any failure, delay, or inability to provide any assistance services to the extent such failure, delay, or inability arises out of or is attributable to a Force Majeure Event. For the avoidance of doubt, Force Majeure Event refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Across Assist that prevents or delays the performance of our obligations under these terms, which include, but are not limited to, natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, hurricanes), acts of war, terrorism, riots, pandemics, government actions or restrictions, and other unforeseeable and unavoidable events.
- Process:
- MMT shall share a toll free number & email ID of Across Assist in the booking confirmation email.
- Upon receipt of a call from the Customer, the request shall be received and logged at the Across Assist alarm centre.
- Across Assist shall asses the Customer’s concern and determine the nature of assistance required.
- Across Assist shall capture the necessary details and register the case.
- Across Assist will instruct the service partner to activate the assistance service, upon the receipt of full charges.
- Across Assist shall share the estimated charges with Customer.
- Upon the receipt of Customer’s approval on the charges, Across Assist will instruct the relevant service provider to initiate the process and to activate the required services.
- The service provider will coordinate with the Customer.
- The service provider will assist the customer in lodging the missing passport report with local police authority.
- Post arranging the missing report, the local provider will update Across Assist of the same.
- Service provider will assist in arranging the appointment with Indian Embassy for reissuing the temporary passport.
- Post completion of Case will confirm the same to customer and close the case file.
- Emergency Cash Assistance: (Only for international flight bookings)
- Inclusions:
- Assistance in arranging the emergency cash in case of any emergency.
- Across Assist’s “Emergency Cash Assistance Service” offers support and assistance in case of a lost or stolen wallet, ensuring that Customers can access cash in a timely and secure manner.
- Across Assist will arrange the emergency cash services upon the receipt of a report regarding loss or theft of the Customer’s wallet, card, or baggage.
- Across Assist shall assist the Customer by arranging for the emergency cash in local currency to be made available at the location outside of the Customer’s home country (i.e. India), subject to the applicable laws and regulations of the country where the assistance is sought and permissible cash advance limits.
- Emergency cash up to the limit of USD 500 (United States Five Hundred only) may be arranged, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
- Support is provided worldwide, available 24×7×365 via phone and email.
- Virtual assistance shall be provided over telephone to facilitate the arrangement of services as per the Customer’s requirements.
- Customer shall be notified once the requested services have been arranged, and Across Assist shall conduct continuous follow-ups with the service provider, until completion of the required services.
- Case closure will be completed within 24 (twenty four) to 48 (forty eight) hours after case registration.
- All services will be provided strictly in accordance with the applicable laws of the land.
- Exclusions:
- Any and all costs and charges incurred for providing assistance related to arranging an assistance service shall be borne solely by the Customer.
- The actual service fees or costs for any services availed shall be paid solely and directly by the Customer.
- Across Assist will provide emergency cash assistance anywhere in the world, except in countries involved in war-like activities.
- Across Assist shall not be liable for any failure, delay, or inability to provide any assistance services to the extent such failure, delay, or inability arises out of or is attributable to a Force Majeure Event. For the avoidance of doubt, Force Majeure Event refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Across Assist that prevents or delays the performance of our obligations under these terms, which include, but are not limited to, natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, hurricanes), acts of war, terrorism, riots, pandemics, government actions or restrictions, and other unforeseeable and unavoidable events.
- Process:
- Upon receipt of a call from the Customer, the request shall be received and logged at the Across Assist alarm centre (24*7 / 365 days).
- Across Assist shall assess the Customer’s concern and collect the incident details, registered mobile number for verification, and current address details to register the case within 10 (ten) to 15 (fifteen) minutes.
- Across Assist reference numbers shall be shared with the Customer.
- Across Assist will collect the required amount from Customer/Customer’s relative or Customer’s friend, which was requested, and the conversion will be appliable as per the exchange rate.
- Across Assist will instruct the service provider to activate the assistance the service by the service partner of the country and place the request to transfer the desired amount.
- Across Assist shall update the Customer post activation of services, and in any event within 2 (two) hours.
- The service provider will coordinate with the Customer on his local contact number within 4 (four) to 6 (six) hours.
- Post receiving the funds from Customer/Customer’s relatives or friend’s in India, Across Assist will inform the service provider to transfer the funds within 12 (twelve) hours and confirm and verify within 24 (twenty four) hours.
- Post receiving confirmation for receipt of funds by Customer, the closure updates will be shared with the Customer.
General Terms & Conditions:
- In the event of any misuse or abuse of the Price Drop Protection service by the Customer, MMT reserves the right to deny the Price Drop Protection service or cancel the flight booking of the Customer. MMT shall not refund the booking amount in any event.
- MMT reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this service by another service, whether similar to this service or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
- MMT shall have reasonable discretion in interpretation of these terms and conditions from time to time.
- MMT shall not be responsible for any delay, improper services provided by the service provider of the required services, for any injury, death, loss or damage caused by the act or default of the management or employees of service provider who are MMT’s independent contractors.
- MMT does not accept responsibility for losses and additional expenses, due to delays or changes in air, train, ships or other services, missed connections, sicknesses, weather, strikes, quarantine or other causes, howsoever caused, and all such losses and expenses caused must be borne by the Customer.
- MMT shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to force majeure event.
- MMT shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential damages arising from or out of or in connection with the Price Drop Protection service. Under no circumstances, will the entire liability of MMT under these terms and conditions exceed the amount of Price Drop Protection Fee paid by the Customer for availing this service.
- The Customer shall be solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided at the time of booking and while availing this service. MMT shall not be liable for any loss, cost or consequence arising from incorrect, incomplete or fraudulent information provided by the Customer, and the Customer shall indemnify MMT against any claims, costs or liabilities arising therefrom.
- By purchasing the Price Drop Protection service, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions and the scope and limitations of this service.
- Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with this Price Drop Protection service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Gurugram, Haryana.
- All other terms and conditions as listed in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy available on MMT Platforms will be applicable to these terms and conditions. The User Agreement and Privacy Policy are available on the MakeMyTrip website https://www.makemytrip.com. Users, who are travel agents by occupation, are barred from making bookings for their customer’s and MMT reserves the right to deny this service against such bookings or to cancel such bookings.
