Q) How many hours prior to the train departure do I need to cancel my booking?
A) Customer must cancel booking at least 4 hours before the scheduled train departure or before the chart preparation (whichever is earlier), to avail full refund.
Q) How will I receive the claim amount under ‘Free Cancellation’?
A) Refunds will be credited into your original mode of payment. The refund will be initiated automatically.
Q) How many days does it take for the refund to be credited, once I cancel my train booking?
A) The refund amount will be credited to the original mode of payment within 7 to 14 working days, from the date of booking cancellation.
Q) Will I get full refund if I cancel the booking?
A) In case of booking cancellation, only the ticket fare will be refunded. Other charges like MakeMyTrip Service Fee, IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges and Free Cancellation charges are non-refundable.
Q) What will happen in case the train gets cancelled?
A) In such a case you don’t need to cancel your booking manually. IRCTC will automatically initiate a refund of ticket fare, which will be credited to the original mode of payment.
Q) My Train Ticket is waitlisted/RAC, can I avail refund under ‘Free Cancellation’?
A) Yes, you can avail refund for waitlisted or RAC tickets as well.
